Archery and Target Sports
Week 1: June 13, 2022 – June 17, 2022
Archery is the art, sport, practice or skill of using a bow to shoot arrows. Campers will learn the skill of archery under the supervision of a trained professional. In addition to archery lessons campers will also learn an array of target sports. Campers will be split into age groups units include: modern form, aiming methods, and competitive archery.
Camp includes: before and aftercare, one field trip, and daily archery and target sports activities.
Equestrian Husbandry and Horseback Riding
Week 2: June 20, 2022 – June 24, 2002
This year our Elite U Campers will learn about the care and cultivation of horses. What are the different types of horses and what jobs do they fulfill? How do you properly tact and ride a horse? How do you house horses and what is the purpose of a stable? We will learn and answer all these questions during this camp.
Camp includes: before and aftercare, one horse back riding field trip to a stable, and equestrian study.
Karate and Self Defense
Week 3: June 27, 2002 – July 1, 2002
Traditional Martial Arts programs help improve confidence, increase focus, and develop discipline as well as self control. These skills are important for everyone: adults, children, and teenagers alike – but especially for children. Our campers will learn Karate and self defense in a safe fun environment. Self defense is a countermeasure that involves defending oneself or the well-being of another from physical harm.
Camp includes before and after care, five days of instruction and a field trip to an activity gym.
Parkour and Rock Wall Climbing
Week 4: July 11, 2022 – July 15, 2022
What would summer be without climbing? This year Elite U is combining the fun of Rockwall climbing with the athleticism of Parkour. Campers will participate in daily parkour activities and visit a rock wall climbing gym!
Camp includes before and after care, five days of instruction and a field trip to a rock wall climbing gym.
Gymnastics and Agility Training
Week 5: July 18, 2022 – July 22, 2022
Gymnastics helps kids develop flexibility, balance, and coordination. Elite U Campers will participate in floor exercises, physical agility drills, learn a floor routine. To tie it all in campers will visit a gymnastics gym and take instruction from a gymnastics coach.
Camp includes before and after care, five days of instruction and a field trip to a gymnastics gym.
Culinary Arts and Sustainable Growing
This year our campers will work with a chef to cook a daily meal. Our campers will also learn about sustainable growing and plant their own crops at camp! Campers will be split into small groups and learn to cook as a team. Camp units include: following recipes. safety prep, meal prep, measuring, cutting, and gastronomy. Campers will also visit a sustainable farm in the Houston area to see how our food is grown and where our food comes from!
Camp includes before and after care, five days of instruction and a field trip to a sustainable garden.
Mixed Media Art and Art Presentation
Week 7: August 1, 2022 – August 5, 2022
What makes an awesome art camp? An art camp that not only educates students with art history and technique but also teaches students to follow what art expression speaks to them. Campers will also learn how to present their art in the style of a professional art gallery. Units include: paining, drawing, photography, and sketching. Campers will also participate in daily art projects.
Camp includes before and after care, five days of instruction and a field trip to art museum.
Lego Robotics and Aerospace Engineering
Elite U is excited to bring the Aerospace Engineering Program to the South Park area! This year our aerospace engineers will learn and explore planetary science! For decades NASA’s planetary science program has advanced the scientific understanding of the solar system in extraordinary ways, while pushing the limits of robotic engineering design and operations. Units include: studying and building models of earth orbiting telescopes, ground based sensors, and the planetary fleet satellites and robotic instruments.
Camp includes before and after care, five days of instruction and a field trip to NASA.
Fencing Camp and Agility Training
Week 9: August 15, 2022 – August 19, 2022
Elite U is proud to host Fencing Camp at our Camp South Park location! This camp includes: fun fencing warm – up games, fencing history, basic fencing footwork, and blade work. Camps will also learning about fencing tournaments, scoring, rules, as well as participating in a mini competition on the last days of the camp. The Fencing instructor will supply all equipment needed for fencing camp.
